You Are Stronger Than Your OCD & Anxiety

Do you find that distressing thought patterns are impacting your well-being and keeping you from connecting with the ones you love? Are you having difficulty helping others understand your inner struggles because you don't understand them yourself? Are you longing to live a more fulfilled and self-expressed life, with a greater sense of freedom?

You’ve struggled for long enough and are ready to take this important step toward healing.

I have personal experience with recovery from OCD, so I understand it from the inside and out, and I want to help you, too.

OCD & Anxiety

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Anxiety can be debilitating conditions, but the path forward is clear. Evidence-based treatments, namely Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Rumination-Focused ERP, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness, are approaches that help.

It can take many years before someone with OCD finds the support they need.

About Lucy

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Minnesota specializing in therapy for adults and teens struggling with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Anxiety. I have lived experience with recovering from the grip of OCD and am subsequently committed to helping others. My OCD presentation appeared with primarily mental compulsions, and so this is a specialty area for my practice.

Currently, I use Inference-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) as a preferred method to treat OCD. I find the approach provides an enlightening "manual for the OCD brain", and I've seen clients improve greatly. I attend several peer consultations and also consult with Frederick Aardema, one of the founders of I-CBT.

I bring to treatment a wealth of experience personally and as a therapist. I have a background in exploring Buddhism and mindfulness, which is beneficial for the therapeutic process. As an OCD provider, I was trained in Exposure and Response Prevention through the Behavioral Therapy Training Institute. I also have experience treating OCD using Rumination Focused CBT.

Maintaining a private practice, Pivot Psych MN, in Southwest Minneapolis, Minnesota, I am available for telehealth and in-person appointments. License #2314
